New generation by URBEN + KYBURZ AG
Following the untimely death of company founder Paul Urben in 1986, his sons Rolf and Bruno Urben took over the management of the company. Rolf was the business manager with a constant focus on customer acquisition, while Bruno was the man in the workshop with an exceptional flair for quality issues. In 1999, Christoph Gasche, a commercial man, joined the company, complementing the two technicians and taking responsibility for HR, finance and insurance. All three have been or are still active on the company's board of directors for decades.
The former two-man business in Etziken, founded in 1958, initially focused on the manufacture of optical glass and mechanical components. Under the leadership of Rolf and Bruno, the company grew to 180 employees at times. Today, URBEN + KYBURZ AG is a reliable partner for manufacturers of hydraulic pumps, earth-moving machinery and electric hand tools. Various partners from the medical technology, machinery, furniture and automotive spare parts industries also appreciate the products of the Etziken-based company.
With the trio now all having reached retirement age, a long and successful era is coming to an end. When asked what the secret of their success over the last 40 years was, the answer came immediately: they all complemented each other perfectly, everyone stood up for each other and no one was above doing any job that needed to be done!
The third generation of U+K is not only waiting in the wings, but has already been on board for years. All departments are staffed with young top talent, guaranteeing the future. In addition, the “old guard,” who have served U+K for a combined total of 130 years, are of course willing to help out (with advice and support) if desired.
